How The Pools works

Everything worth knowing before you launch or buy, in plain terms. If something here is still unclear, ask us on X.

Launching

What do I need to launch?

A Solana wallet, a name, a ticker and a logo. Everything else — the curve, the tax, the market cap it migrates at — is set for you, so there is nothing to configure and nothing to get wrong. Launching costs network fees plus the rent for the pool account.

What does "launch into a pool" mean?

Every coin trades against one other token — its pool. Pair with SOL and people buy your coin with SOL, and what you earn is paid to you in SOL. Launch into the $POOLS pool and the same holds in $POOLS. The pool is fixed at launch and can't be changed afterwards.

What is a dev buy?

A dev buy is you buying your own coin at launch. The Pools puts that buy in the same transaction that creates the pool, so nobody can get in ahead of you.

Why does every address end in PL?

Your browser generates keypairs until it finds one whose mint address ends in PL. It takes a second or two and it makes The Pools coins recognisable at a glance on any explorer or scanner.

The curve

What is a bonding curve?

Instead of someone seeding a liquidity pool, the price is set by a formula: the more of the supply that has been bought, the higher the price. There is no order book and no one to match with — you trade against the curve itself, so a coin is tradeable from the first second it exists.

What does "bonding" or "migrating" mean?

When a coin reaches its migration market cap, the curve closes and everything raised moves into a full Meteora DAMM v2 pool. From that point it trades like any other Solana pair and shows up on aggregators. That liquidity is locked for the first day after migration, then vests to the coin's creator, who can withdraw it from that point on. The Pools never holds it.

What is the tax on trades?

Every buy and sell on the curve pays a fee in the quote token, and the migrated pool charges its own fee afterwards. Both are baked into the on-chain config at launch, so they're the same for every coin on the site and nobody can change them later.

What do Dipped, Filling and Bonded mean on the home feed?

The three stages a coin passes through. Dipped is freshly launched and early on the curve. Filling is closing in on its migration cap. Bonded has finished its curve — it's trading in a full Meteora pool.

Earning

How do creators get paid?

You earn a cut of the fee on every trade of your coin, starting with the first buy, and you keep earning after it bonds. It accrues on-chain in the coin's quote token — nothing is held for you off-chain.

How do I claim?

Connect the wallet you launched from and open Claim. Every coin you've launched here is listed with what it has earned, and you can claim one at a time or all at once. There is no deadline.

Can I lose access to my earnings?

They're tied to the wallet that created the coin, so keep that wallet. The Pools can't move them for you and can't reassign them to a different address.

Safety

Does The Pools hold my keys?

No. Every transaction is built in your browser and signed by your wallet. The server never sees a private key and never has custody of a coin or its earnings.

Who reviews the coins listed here?

Nobody. Anyone can launch, and a coin appearing on this site is not an endorsement of it. Read the contract, check the holders, and make your own call.

Ready to launch?

Name, ticker, logo. It's live on the curve in one transaction.
